The American Legion

The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, mutual-help, war-time veterans organization.

 

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement; it will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

 

American Veterans of WWII, Korea and Vietnam (AMVETS)

AMVETS Membership is open to all men and women who have served honorably any time after September 15, 1940, or are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, Reserves or National Guard.

 

Army and Air Force Mutual Aid Association

A non-profit, tax exempt organization supported entirely by membership dues. Army and Air Force commissioned, warrant, and noncommissioned officers on active duty or retired status (Reserve Component included) are eligible for membership.

 

Disabled American Veterans

Formed in 1920 and chartered by Congress in 1932, the million-member DAV is the official voice of America's service-connected disabled veterans -- a strong, insistent voice that represents all of America's 2.1 million disabled veterans, their families an d survivors.

 

Fleet Reserve Association

Navy Mutual Aid Association

Formed in July 1879, the Navy Mutual Aid Association is a mutual, nonprofit, tax exempt, voluntary membership association of sea service personnel and their families.

 

Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States

VFW has more than 15,750 trained service officers to assist any veteran or their dependents in gaining federal or state entitlements.

 

Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc.

Vietnam Veterans of America, chartered by Congress in 1986, was formed in large part to fight for and affect laws and policies to ensure that Vietnam veterans receive the help they have earned and need.

The National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder provides important information about dealing with this potentially disabling problem among veterans and others.

 

VA Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program

This clinic, located in the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa FL is the only CARF accredited multidisciplinary pain treatment, inpatient program in the VA. They accept referrals nationwide.
