During the legislative session of 2013, Senate Bill 126 was created and passed with the purpose of improving the coordination of Veteran services throughout the State of Utah. This bill creates the requirement for specific Government agencies to coordinate Veteran services with the Utah Department of Veteran & Military Affairs (UDVMA). Currently, the UDVMA is working with the Department of Health, Department of Human Services, Department of Human Resource Management, Department of Workforce Services, Utah System of Higher Education, and Utah College of Applied Technology. These departments have assigned a full-time employee who is the “Veteran Services Specialist” to coordinate the provision of Veteran services within the organization.
