William E. Christoffersen Salt Lake City Veterans HomeThe William E. Christoffersen Veterans Home opened in 1998 as an 81-bed skilled nursing facility that focuses on the residents’ quality of life. Currently, the facility has 81 beds, 39 double occupancy rooms and 3 private rooms. There are two wings on the upper floor and a memory care unit downstairs. A vibrant recreation department involves residents in many activities, games and programs. Residents grow tomatoes in raised garden plots in the summer, go on fishing trips, visit museums, enjoy concerts and nearby sporting events. A professionally staffed rehabilitation department provides physical, occupational and speech therapy to improve and restore maximum function and strength. We offer full therapy and rehabilitative services, convienient access to VA medical providers, and exciting nearby activities of downtown Salt Lake and University of Utah. We have a unique pet therapy program that includes a giant tortoise and friendly Kangaroos. A caring and dedicated nursing staff and dietary department all add to the outstanding care that has earned the Veterans Nursing Home a prestigious 5-Star rating for overall quality by the government’s Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
