THE WATCH NEVER ENDS

Retired Law Enforcement Officer and United States Air Force Veteran Jeffrey Pimentel will embark on a 1,952-mile trek from California to Indiana in May 2026 to raise national awareness about child exploitation, trafficking, and abuse — crimes that are occurring in communities across our nation more frequently than many people realize.
This effort, titled “The Watch Never Ends – A National Child Recovery Trek,” is a mission of service, education, and prevention rooted in the principles of vigilance, duty, and protection of the vulnerable. The trek will travel through multiple states, including Utah, with the purpose of engaging communities in meaningful dialogue and practical action to protect children.
We respectfully invite veterans, veteran service organizations, law enforcement agencies, community leaders, and citizens throughout the State of Utah to participate in this effort by joining local events, hosting community discussions, providing support along the route, or standing in solidarity to raise awareness about the safety of children in their communities as we pass through your location. We will pass St. George on 7 May, Cedar City on 8 – 9 May, Richfield on 10 May, and Cove Fort on 11 May,
Throughout the journey, I will meet with veterans and community partners to share information about recognizing warning signs, strengthening prevention efforts, and building partnerships that protect children. This initiative recognizes the continued leadership role veterans play in safeguarding our communities long after their military service has ended.
The goal is simple but urgent:
To unite communities across Utah and the nation in a shared commitment to protect children, increase awareness, and ensure rapid response when a child is in danger.
This nationwide outreach effort is led by the nonprofit organization Children Such as These, dedicated to child protection, prevention education, and recovery support.
Because protecting children is not the responsibility of one person or one agency — it is the responsibility of all of us.
