Register with UDVMA

Benefits and Services

Veterans of the United States armed forces who reside in the state of Utah may be eligible for a broad range of federal and state benefits and services. One of the primary responsibilities of the Utah Department of Veterans Affairs is to connect veterans and service members with the benefits and resources available them. These benefits and services were created to assist Veterans and their families with the transition back into civilian life by addressing some key areas. VA Claims Assistance

The Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs offers free assistance to Veterans and their family members with claims, applications, and appeals to the VA. Federal Law, Title 38 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) governs individuals providing VA claims assistance and the representation of VA claimants to ensure veterans have responsible, qualified representation in the preparation, presentation, and prosecution of claims for veterans’ benefits. The Utah Division of State Parks is proud to offer qualifying veterans access to our Veterans With Disabilities Honor Pass! Beginning May 4, 2022, the Honor Pass will be available for veterans who:

Are a Utah resident
Were honorably discharged from their military service
Have a service-related disability and can provide a current summary of benefits letter issued by the Department of Veteran Affairs

This license plate recognizes Utah resident disabled veterans for their military service. As Utah tax code does not provide handicapped parking space privileges for the Disabled Veteran license plate, a disabled windshield placard must be obtained separately. This plate may be transferred to the surviving spouse of a disabled veteran so long as the surviving spouse remains unmarried.

The Utah Veteran First-Time Homebuyer Grant program is open to eligible Veterans and current service members (Active Duty, Reserve or Guard). Eligible first-time homebuyers may apply for a $2,500 grant to go towards the purchase of a home in Utah. If you are a recently separated Veteran (last 5 years) or a currently serving member of the military living in Utah and are interested in buying a home for the first time in Utah, this program is for you.
