The Utah Department of Veterans & Military Affairs invites you to a special event dedicated to celebrating the service and contributions of Utah’s women Veterans.

Join us at the Utah State Capitol Rotunda on March 15th for “Honoring Women Veterans of Utah – Sisters in Service,” a special evening to celebrate the valor and achievements of Utah’s women veterans. Starting at 6:00 PM, this event features a special program, followed by a social hour with hors d’oeuvres for guests to connect and share stories. We are excited to welcome General Mari K. Eder, a retired U.S. Army Major General, as our special guest speaker. Her inspiring talk will add depth to our tribute to our women veterans. About retired Army Major General Mari K. Eder: Mari K. Eder, a retired U.S. Army Major General, is a distinguished speaker, author, and strategic communication and leadership expert. Her career includes significant roles such as Director of Public Affairs at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, adjunct professor and lecturer at the NATO School and Sweden’s International Training Command, and senior positions within the Pentagon, including Deputy Chief of Public Affairs and Deputy Chief of the Army Reserve. She is also recognized for her involvement with the Department of Defense’s Reserve Forces Policy Board. General Eder is an active communicator, often speaking and writing for universities and international audiences, and offers consultancy in communications. She has authored notable books like “Leading the Narrative: The Case for Strategic Communication” and “American Cyberscape,” and an inspirational book about WWII women, “The Girls Who Stepped Out of Line.” Beyond her professional endeavors, she is dedicated to animal rescue, fostering rescue dogs.
