The MISSING IN AMERICA PROJECT (MIAP) will honor four unclaimed veterans in its 13th Utah mission. Services with full military honors will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 10:30 a.m. at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park in Bluffdale.
The veterans to be interred are:
Roderick Melvin Boyd (1959-2023) US Army, PVT 1
David J. Darrin (1951-2022) US Army, SP4, Vietnam Veteran
Franklin Lamar Dorman (1933-2023) US Army, PFC, Korean War Veteran
Alfred S. Griffith II (1943-2023) US Army, PFC
MIAP is a non-profit organization dedicated to locating, identifying, and interring the unclaimed remains of veterans. Their mission is to provide honor and respect to those who served our country.
The ceremony will begin with a procession from Salt Lake City Harley-Davidson at 9:40 a.m., led by the Salt Lake City Police Department Motorcycle Squad. The procession will include members of MIAP, veteran motorcycle organizations, and others. Wiscombe Memorial has generously donated their hearse and driver to transport the veterans’ remains.
