Travis Manion Honor Project

The Honor Project is a national movement that began in 2021 when TMF recognized that many surviving
families and battle buddies of those interred at national cemeteries were unable to visit their loved ones on
Memorial Day.
The Honor Project began with a handful of volunteers placing commemorative tokens for fallen heroes at
Arlington National Cemetery, and it has continued to expand every year. Now, TMF mobilizes hundreds of
veterans, surviving families, and volunteers to visit fallen heroes at over 50 cemeteries nationwide,
encouraging them to pause and reflect.
This initiative allows volunteers to stand in for families of the fallen, and it empowers future generations to
understand the true meaning of Memorial Day.
While The Honor Project has evolved each year, the purpose and passion behind it have remained constant.
Volunteers are here to visit fallen heroes, honor their names, and recognize their service and sacrifice.
Volunteers place hand-crafted commemorative tokens at the resting places of fallen heroes, say their names,
and learn their stories. The Honor Project is about honoring these heroes and supporting their surviving
families—a mission we know you, as volunteers, deeply understand.
